ESU holds JSYC, AMOFA holds NYC
Eastern Sporting Union held J. Songtum Youth Club(JSYC) Sadar Hills, 1-1 in the semi-final round of 16th M. Chittamani Memorial Winners’ Cup Football Tournament, 2011, at ESU Wangkhei ground.
J. Songtum Youth Club opened their account in the 12th minute of play as Thangjahao netted home the lead.
After the early break, the Sadar Hills team were a bit complacent and seizing the opportunity, the home team Eastern Sporting team went on the offensive. The team managed to equalize in the 57th minute as Minthang scored.
Eastern Sporting Union paced up their play and made a few forays into the striking zone. Their efforts, however, yielded no results.
Eastern Sporting will meet Songtum in their away at Kangpokpi Thomas ground on October 13.
In another match, Churachandpur NYC had a goalless draw against All-Moirang Football Association at NYC’ home ground. They will meet second leg match at AMOFA’s home ground Bishnupur Mini Stadium on Thursday
