Lajong and HAL to fascinate Manipur Fans


Football  fans of Manipur will witness the I-League matches for the first time as Shillong Lajong FC choose Khuman Lampak Main Stadum as their home venue. They will play theirs opening game of  I-League  against Hindustan Aeronautical Limited at Khuman Lampak Main stadium which will serve as theirs home venue on October 28.

Shillong Lajong FC will play a total of sixty matches in the I-League of which thirty of it will be on its home venue, disclosed Andrew Shuting, Manager Head of Operation, Shillong Lajong FC who visited Imphal today in lieu of its matches' arrangement.

Andrew further while speaking to reporters at AMFA office said, apart from HAL matches another match against Air India had been confirmed at Imphal on November 10.

Shillong Lajong FC, the lone I-league team of North East India, wanted to play before the crowds of  Manipur. Even though Silchar stadium is more convenient for arrangement, they choosed Manipur as they experienced the huge crowds turn-up in the final of last year's CC Meet. They met local team TRAU in the final.

 Praising Manipur for producing so many talented football player and also the football loving crowd of the state, Andrew Shuting, Manager Head of Operation, Shillong Lajong FC said , they had choosen Manipur as a tribute over Silchar and the matches is expected to inspires young talented players of the state.

Shillong ,Stadium which is to be their home venue, is undergoing to install artificial grass field. Installation works is expected to be completed  in November. If it is not ready, further matches will be held at Imphal , Andrew Shuting Manager Head of Operation conveyed.
