IMPHAL, Jan 19: Md Amir Khan scored the all important goal as Manipur began its campaign in the 48th Junior National Football Championship for Dr BC Roy Trophy (tier-I) with a 1-0 defeat of Delhi at Siliguri (West Bengal) today.

Amir Khan netted the matchwinner in the 65th minute.
In the day’s other match, Karnataka edged past Assam by a solitary goal.
Manipur will face Karna-taka on January 23.

In the North East Qualifier for 34th Sub Junior National Football Championship for Co-Cola Mir Iqbal Hussain Trophy which is being held in Tinsukia Assam, Manipur defeated Maghalaya 3-0 in the opening match.
