NEW DELHI: The Indian U-22 squad for the Asian Cup
Qualifiers landed in New Delhi on Friday morning. Chief Coach Arthur
Papas who took charge of the team opted for an evening swimming pool
session. He also had a meeting with the boys besides a detailed one with
the support staff.
“We will decide on the training sessions as we progress. We need to keep in mind the weather. It’s very warm and hot,” he said.
The boys had earlier assembled in Bangalore on May 15 and went through a series of physical tests. Besides the training sessions, they also played six friendly matches against top-division local Bangalore clubs and won all of them.
The squad would be having their first training session at the Ambedkar Stadium on Saturday (June 2). The morning training session kicks-off at 6.15am while the evening session will kick-off at 5.30pm.
