JSYC wins first leg final of Winners' Cup


With emphatic 3-1 win over AMOFA, Moirang in the first leg of the final made high hope to J. Songtum Youth Club(JSYC) Sadar Hills  for the title of 16th M  Chittamani Singh Memorial Winners Cup 2011 football tournament.

 As the match was plyed at Thomas Ground, Kangpok-pi ,  JSYC was spirited by their home supportes and played an attacking game. Thangjahao slammed home the opening goal of the team in the 19th minute.

However, AMOFA levelled the score 1-1 in the first minute of first half injury time through Minthang.

JSYC laying seige at the rival half for most of the second session eventually managed to  lead  again from a Letjahao's goal in the 66th minute. Thang-jahao netted his second goal of the match in the 80th minute . JSYC's win to ensure the Sadar Hills side take on the Moirang side in the second leg final at Bishnupur Mini Stadium on October 18 with a two goal advantage.

With  a large gathering of home supporters, the match was witnessed by Chief Executive Officer of SHADC, Kangpokpi Chon-gpu Kipgen as the chief guest.
