Manipur Police met NYTHC in the last encounter of the league today at Mapal Kangjeibung. The victory was the second win for NYTHC in fivee-team competition which was concluded today. However Manipur police retained the title as they topped in the table by winning their last three matches.
Police veteran medio O Bembem , former Indian captain, scored in the 37th minute to lead the match . Bembem's goal could manage to lead by 1-0 in the half time.
In the second session , NYTHC Y Kamala converted a penalty in the 54th minute to level the score. She scored the most important goal to edge the police in 78th minute of the match.
Earlier YWC, Langthabal lost 3-1 to KRYPSA, Naoremthong . The match between YWC and KRYPSA saw two own goals, including the latter’s opener in the 36th minute and YWC’s consolation goal that came in the 64th minute.
A goal from the penalty spot by O Roshini in the 40th minute and E Bidyarani’s strike at the hour mark helped the Naoremthong eves record their only victory in the tournament.
ESU, Wangkhei secured the runners-up position on seven points. They managed to win two matches and draw on match .
In the closing ceremony, KC Sharma ,President All Manipur Volleyball Association graced the function as chief guest and A. Santosh Kumar , President AMFA as president of the fuction. KC Sharma and Santoshkumar presented the prizes and trophies to the two top teams of the league.
