MPSC blanks KSC

Imphal, Nov 12: Ksh kanta scored the first hattrick of the ongoing 55th CC Meet football tournament as MPSC blanked Kuki Students’ Club, Lambulane 5-0 in a second round match at Mapal Kangjeibung today.

Riding on Kanta’s goals and two from Th Bipin (14th, 49th) MPSC stormed into the pre-quarters with the highest victory margin so far in the tournament. Kanta and Bipin pressed their openent's defence a lot. Their combination was effective police's attacking strategies.

Opening the score only six minutes into the match from a corner kick from right by his team mate S Somochandra. Kanta rounded off the emphatic win with clinical finishes in the 63rd and 75th minute and made his tally for hat-trick. Bipin was also the provider in the second goal of the team in 14th minute and added one more in early minute of the second session of the match.

Manipur Police will meet defending runners-up TRAU in the round of sixteen on Tuesday

One of the strong team SSU Singjamei will start their campaign tomorrow. They are ready to clash KIYC, Iril Mapal.

TRAU enter pre-quarter final


Imphal, Nov 11: Last year's runners up team, Tiddim Road Athletics Union (TRAU), Kwakeithel entered pre-quarter final by winning its first match.
In the second round of the 55th Sir Churachand Singh, KCSI, CBE memorial football tournament 2011 today, TRAU thrashed MTFC, Senapati 3-0.
After a goalless first half, TRAU opened its goal account with Sudhiranjan in the 67th minute. Just two minutes later, in the 69th Kh Netaji's header found the back of MTFC to increase TRAU margin. With yet another goal from L Tiken in the 3rd minute of the added time, TRAU stamped its complete domination of the match.(Hueiyenlanpao)
