Imphal, Nov. 17: North Eastern Reorganisation and Cultural Association (NEROCA) Sangakpham  defeated Southern Sporting Union(SSU) Singjamei by 3-4 goals during penalty shootout in the 55th Sir Churchand Singh KCSI, CBE Memorial Football Tournament at Mapal Kangjeibung to enter the quarter-finals.

Southern Sporting Union scored two goals through K. Kiran Singh and T. Raju Singh while North Eastern got the first goal through M. Ashok Singh.

North Eastern players T. Kornan Singh, Ng. Tomarjit Singh and Th. Roshan Singh managed to score the next three goals. Md Sahidur Rahaman scored Southern Sporting Union’s third goal.

Skipper S. Shanta Singh’s shot was saved by the North Eastern keeper.

North Eastern Reorganisation player Th. Vandona Singh was booked with a yellow card in the match.

NISA will take on Tiddim Road Unique Gamy Players Union in another pre-quarterfinal tomorrow.
