The installation work is funded by the Federation De International Football Association (FIFA) under its project 'Win in India with India' to develop football in the country.
Speaking to Hueiyen Lanpao, AMFA Secretary L Ranjit Roy said that the installation work will be carried out by the Limonta Sports an Italy based company. If the installation work is carried out without any interference, people of the state will witness artificial turf by the Yaoshang season. The installation work was delayed due to the economic blockades in the hill districts.
The proposed cost of the installation of the artificial turf is USD 609,750. However the cost is expected to increase due to the delay in the work and rise in transportation cost which will make the project costliest among the similar projects of FIFA in India.
As soon as the officials of Limonta Sports reached here, they will check the leveling of the ground and begin the laying of rubber granule after which the installation of artificial turf will be done, he said.
