Premkumar guides NISA to semifinals
IMPHAL, Dec 6: Thanks to the brilliance of L Premkumar under the bar, former champions NISA, Thangmeiband advanced to the semi finals of the 55th CC Meet football tournament being held at Mapal Kangjeibung.
While Premkumar effected three saves in the tie-breaker to help NISA cross the first hurdle against YOSC, Khurai in its campaign opener, the custodian proved his worth again today as Mizoram Youth XI bowed out of the tournament following a 4-3 defeat in the penalty shoot-out.

The shoot-out witnessed Premkumar save the first and last penalty kicks of the Mizoram side to single-handedly seal the last four berth for the former champions.
While L Ratan missed the first kick for the Thangmei-band side, L Nabachandra, G Golmei, Michael Joute and Th Borish were the successful penalty takers.
Defending champion Shillong Lajong FC will play USA, Khurai in tomorrow’s third quarter final match at 1.30 pm.
The semifinal matches would be played at Khuman Lampak Main Stadium. NEROCA, Sangakpham have already secured a berth in the semifinal round as the third out-station team has failed to confirm participation.
