Imphal, Dec. 5: Assam Rifles tamed Tiddim Road Athletic Union by 4-1 goals to storm into the semi-finals of the 55th Sir Churchand Singh KCSI, CBE Memorial Football Tournament at Mapal Kangjeibung.

The riflemen opened with Ajitkumar Singh scoring in the 4th minute for the lead.

Tiddim Road came back with Y. Hemanta Singh fetching the equaliser in the eighth minute to level scores.

Akum Ao scored the second goal for Assam Rifles in the 34th minute and M. Kamei struck his team’s third goal in the 44th minute.

Assam Rifles got the winning goal in the 82nd minute as L. Santa Singh scored for the 4-1 lead.

In the second quarter-final tomorrow, Mizoram Youth XI will meet North Imphal Sporting Association.
