Imphal, February 5: Football lovers of Imphal today witnessed the spectacular final of the ongoing ‘Play Together for Manipur Football Tournament 2012’ organised by 28 Assam Rifles of 9 Sector under HQ IGAR(S).
The final was played between 28 Assam Rifles and Th Birchandra Singh Football Academy (TBSFA), of Imphal West TBSFA won the match and the score was 6 - 7.
In this tournament young budding talent of Manipur was provided a life time opportunity to show case their talents. They showed that if they are nurtured well they can perform exceedingly well at national and international level. Commander, HQ 9 Sector Assam Rifles graced the occasion as Chief Guest along with various dignitaries. The match was witnessed by approx 1000 football lovers. After the match Commander 9 Sector handed over the winning trophy to TBSFA. On the basis of excellent performance Praveen of TBSFA club was selected for “Golden Boot” and Suresh of TBSFA club was selected as “Best Player”. Few good players from various clubs were selected and will be sponsored for further training to improve their skills.
On this occasion under AR MCA Project sports items including Footballs, volley Balls, Shoes and other accessories were distributed to school of Naran Konjin
