Prayag thrash Mumbai FC 3-0; Chirag Kerala beat Lajong 3-2

KOLKATA: Prayag United thrash Mumbai FC 3-0 in the 21st round I League encounter at the Salt Lake Stadium in Kolkata on Saturday. Kayne Vincent scored a brace in 42nd and 83rd minutes while James Singh scored in 64th minute.

Prayag United missed the services of Deepak Mondal and Arnab Das, but the defense was never really tested with Prayag dominating Mumbai FC since the start.

It was Prayag’s Kayne Vincent who broke the dead lock just three minutes before the half time. Bello lobbed into the box and Vincent guided it with his head past the onrushing Mumbai custodian Ishant.


Changing over, the story remained the same with Prayag dominating their rival. Prayag scored the second goal in the 64th minute. Shylo Tulunga made a fine pass to James Singh who scored from 18 yards past the keeper.

Adding misery to the visitors Kayne Vincent was at the end of another fine pass from Shylo Tulunga, when he beat the on rushing defenders to score the third goal for Prayag.

With this win Prayag United move to 35 points from 21 games and sit level on points with Kingfisher East Bengal. Mumbai FC stays on 17 points from 21 outings.
