Sikkim name final squad for Santosh Trophy

Gangtok: The Sikkim Football Association has named their final 20 players squad for the 66th edition of the National Football Championship for the Santosh Trophy which will be played from May 11 to 27 across Orissa. The SFA had held trials and then a probables camp to select their state team.

The Sikkim FA announced their state squad in a program earlier today at the Paljor Stadium. While talking to media today SFA General Secretary Menla Ethenpa said that this time SFA has given emphasis to the young players that is why, this time most of the players are of age group of 20 to 25 years. Sikkim FA president B.K. Roka has extended his good wishes to the team.


Pushpa Gurung has been appointed by the SFA as the coach of the Sikkim state team, who have been drawn in the preliminary round Cluster VII along with Assam, Haryana and Daman&Diu playing their matches on May 12 (vs Assam), May 14 (vs Haryana) and May 16 (vs Daman&Diu).
