NACO wins first match

IMPHAL, August 11: NACO Nambulmapal succeeded in winning the first match in the Imphal West Super Division Football League tournament at THAU ground, Thangmeiband.

NACO defeated SU Sagolband 3-2 in today’s match of the Super Division League.

NACO has so far received four points from four matches while SU received two points from three matches.

NACO took the leadwith N Jasobanta scoring a goal in the 39th minute and continued the lead till the first half of the match. Again in the early second half N Dhanajit added another goal for NACO in 44th minute through a penalty and continued the lead by 2-0. NACO got the penalty when SU defender M Ibomcha Singh made a dangerous foul to NACO striker Nawaz Khan moving the ball towards penalty area of SU.

Taking advantage of the NACO’s goalkeeper’smistake, Bishorjit of SU was able to reply to one of the goal in the 65th minute.

In the later part, SU put every effort to equalize the score by counter attacking, but in opposite Nawaz Khan of NACO added another goal for NACO in 76th minute continued the lead with 3-1 and also made a winning advantage for the team.

In the last minute of the match, SU was able to reply to one more goal scored by A Nanao in 80th minute through a penalty.  

Meanwhile in the first ground of the first division league match of the day, BMSC Taobungkhok defeated YAC Yaiskul by 1-0.

The lone goal of the match was scored by N Arun Singh in the 77th minute of the match.

So far BMSC has taken 7 points from four matches, while the losing team YAC only got three points from three matches.
