IMPHAL, September 8: Manipur University defeated Moirang College 2-1 in the first quarterfinal match of the ongoing Inter-college Football Tournament at Kha-Manipur College ground, Kakching today.

S Khupjamang Haokip (11th minute) and A Pradipkumar (79th minute) scored for MU, while S Bonson (43rd minute) scored the lone goal of Moirang College.

Meanwhile, Biramangol College work over Kamakhya Pemton College, as they did not turn up for the match. Biramangol College has also entered the semi-final.

IE 2nd division football

MHGAU Golapati and SAK Yumnam Khunau defeated their opponents today in the ongoing Imphal East Second Division Football League Tournament at Khuman Lampak Football Practice Ground.

MHGAU Golapati defeated BSU Keirao by 1-0 in the first match of the day. Belan scored the lone goal of the match in the 18th minute.

In the second match, SAK Yumnam Khunou defeated SWC Khongman 2-1. Rupachandra (10th minute) and K Sanjoy (22nd minute) scored for SAK, while SWC’s lone goal was scored by Robert in the 7th minute of the match.
