MSL: Manipur Police race for champion after a big win

IMPHAL, October 4: MPSC defeated KSC by 6-1 today to take the lead of the 7th Manipur State League at the Khuman Lampak Main Stadium.
MPSC’s significant win was helped by a hattrick from its striker M Somochandra. In scoring his first hattrick of the league, Somochandra became the fourth player in the 7th MSL to score a hattrick.
Somochandra’s goals came in the 27th, 42nd and 64th minute. The other scorers for the winners are I Nilakumar (40th, 71st) and Kanta (81st).
The lone goal for newcomer KSC was scored by Lamkholein Kipgen in the 73rd minute.
The only glitch for MPSC was a caution for scorer Somochandra in the 30th minute and Khem in the 75th minute. Bonylaino of KSC was also cautioned in the 36th minute.
In the second match of the day, TRAU defeated JSYC by 3-2.
Playing at the same venue, TRAU scored two of its goals in the first half leading by 2-0 before the start of the second half.
TRAU added another in the second half and led by 3-0 for the better period of the match, before Thangcha Kipgen came with a brace of his own to lead a spirited fight back for JSYC. Nonetheless the match ended with a 3-2 scoreline in favour of the much experience TRAU team.
The first goal for TRAU was scored in the 13th minute by Th Premkumar while N Dhananjoy added two more in the 33rd and 57th minutes to take the scoreline to 3-0, however Thangcha Kipgen struck in the 64th and 90+1st minutes for JSYC.
Letminthang Tauthang was cautioned in the 70th minute.
