Imphal, Augus 12: The 6th M Brajachand Memorial Women Football Tournament organized by All Jiribam Sport Association (AJSA) at the playground to Jiribam Hr Sec. School since 29 July concluded with Leishem Club,Kamrangha lifting the trophy by defeating Jiri Football Academy (JFA) 2-0 in the final match played today.
The two winning goals of Leishem Clubwere scored by Th.Tombimacha Chanu (Jersey No.11) and H Jessica Chanu (Jersey no. 10) in the 16th and 58 minute of the play.
The final match was conducted with Aziz Hyder as centre referee, O Bisheshore Singh and L Anil Singh as Asst. Referees while Ng.Gyaneshore as the fourth referee and A Iboton as the referee in-charge.
Presiding over the prize distribution ceremony, M Brajakanta Singh presented the best player trophy to O Imathoi Devi of Leishem Club. He also presented the Runnership trophy to JFA team.
Chief Guest of the function, Tingkhoihei Haokip, Chairperson of Jiribam Municipal Council presented the Championship trophy as well as the cash prize to winning Leishem Club.
In all 5 teams namely Jiri Football Academy; Jiri Model English School; Leishem Club, Kamargha; H.Y.C Hmarkholen and New Life Club, Uchathol, had participated in the tournaments.
The trophy of the tournament has been donated by M.Brajakanta Singh in memory of his late father.
