IMPHAL, Feb 15 : The All India Football Federation (AIFF) will hold a trial here for under-14 boys’ for admission into the AIFF regional football academies on March 14 and 15.
The academies, which is a new venture to tap young potential, is likely to have four centres in Calcutta, in north central region and two in the southern region of the country.
Looking forward to the venture, the All Manipur Football Association appointed three coaches Kh Surmani Singh (AFC ‘B’ licensee), L. Debachandra Singh (AFC ‘C’ licensee) and Md Rahaman (AFC ‘C’ licensee) to co-ordinate and assist the AIFF team, which will be led by Scott O’ Donell, for the trial.
The All Manipur Football Federation had also asked the district sports associations and district football associations to recommend eight players each for the trial on or before March 6.
Players who had represented Manipur in the AIFF U-14 Festival in Bengal are not eligible for the trials.
