IMPHAL, Mar 19: A three-day seminar on means to promote sports would be held from April 3 at the Centenary Hall of Manipur University.
The seminar would be jointly organised by the Youth Affairs and Sports Department, Physical Education and Sports Science department of MU, Sports Movement Committee Manipur, and Sports Authority of India.
Addressing the media today at the Manipuir Press Club, Organising Committee member of the seminar, Dr T Inaobi said that the seminar would deliberate on scientific approach to sports and problems faced by sports movement in Manipur. It would be divided into six sessions.
The seminar would witness the presentation of papers by experts in the field, according to RK Ranendrajit of the Sports Movement Committee, Manipur, who spoke on the occasion.
The first day of the seminar would see the presentation and discussion on historical background of sports in Manipur since the first Olympic games at Kangla in 1948 to the present sports scenario.
