U-14 colts start on a positive note

New Delhi: India’s U-14 colts put up a splendid display on the opening day of the AFC U-14 Fest in Kathmandu. India played three matches and won two of them.

In the first match, the U-14 boys were held to a goalless draw by Bangladesh U-14. However, the boys regrouped fast and defeated Bhutan 3-0 in their second match. Sourav Chakraborty scored a brace while Prosenjit Chakraborty scored the other.

In the third match of the day, India breezed past Sri Lanka 2-0. Sourav and Krishna Pandit scored one apiece.

Coach Tarun Roy was all praise for the boys. “The boys acclimatised fast and played as an unit on the field. They are a disciplined lot,” he maintained.
