Three promising girl footballers awarded


IMPHAL, August 29: Three girl football players of the state who had represented India in the 1st AFC U-13 girls football tournament, 2012 at Sri Lanka were handed over with cheques of Rs 5000 each at the All Manipur Football Association, office today.

The Indian team had won the tournament which was held in March, 2012.

The three girls are Kashmina (captain of the Indian team), Heigrujam Daya Devi (top scorer of the tournament with 12 goals) and Asem Roja Devi (most valuable player of the tournament).

The cheques which have been sent from the All India Football Federation were handed over to the young and promising players by the AMFA, treasurer L Dinamani.


KPSC new Kakching 3rd div league champions
IMPHAL, August 29: KPSC, Kakching was today crowned the Kakching 3rd division football league champion at the DSA, ground.

KPSC has 12 points, while KTC has 9 points.

In the last match of the league, JA, Kakching defeated IC, Kakching by 5-0.

Messenger (21st, 60th), Motilal (24th, 52nd) and Sunilkumar (42nd) scored for JA.

JA has six points after today’s match.


Kashmina was however unable to attend the function.
