Imphal East Team to participate Royal Gold Cup

IMPHAL, November 17: The Imphal East district Football Association (IEDFA) has notified that 23 players have been selected for the preparation of Imphal East Distinct team to participate in the 21st Royal Gold Cup Football Tournament at Kojhima town of  Nagaland .

The prestigious 21st Royal Gold Cup was opened at the Kohima Local Ground on Friday.

The champion will carry a cash prize of Rs. 1,50,000 while the runner- up will pocket Rs. 75,000. Besides, the organizers also informed that there will be an incentive bonus of Rs. 5000 for the coach of the winning team.

The Royal Gold Cup was initiated by the Royal Club of Kohima in the year 1988 with the twin objective to raise the game of football to a higher standard by exposing the footballers of the state to higher level of competition and to generate goodwill among the participating teams and clubs. It is also the first football tournament in the State to be recognized as an All Indian Football Tournament by the All India Football Federation in1996.
