India U-16 Women go down to Iran


New Delhi, Nov 26: India U-16 women have been clubbed with hosts Uzbekistan, Iran and hosts Sri Lanka in Group B of the AFC U-16 Women’s Qualifiers which kicked-off on November 26. The Group which was supposed to kick-off earlier had to be deferred because of bad weather. The Indian girls had a final preparatory camp in Gurgaon prior to leaving for the Championship.

India went down 2-5 to Iran in their opening match and next play hosts Sri Lanka on November 28.

The Indian squad stays as follows:
Goalkeepers: Sukanti Roul, Nikita Panna, Manju.

Defenders: Muthu Subburaj, Jyosna Malik, Anika, Ichan Devi, Mareena Thangjam, Poulomi Adhikari.

Midfielders: Sapna Jha, Reshmi Kumari, Khusbhu Kumari, Nevilla Colaco, Dalima Chhibber, Soumiya Ravi, Zarastyn Mistry.

Forwards: Velanie Fernandes, Pinkey Kumari, Supriya Kukreti, Chinmayi Sundaragowda, Ranjibala Devi, Arati Sethi.

Head Coach: Maymol Rocky.
