Shillong Lajong wary of Arrows threat

SHILLONG, Nov 27: Ahead of hosting Pailan Arrows in a eighth round I League encounter on Wednesday, Shillong Lajong coach Desmond Bulpin sounded cautious and well aware of the threat the spritely All India Football Federation developmental side can pose.

“We might win the match but it will be not an easy game for us” Lajong coach Desmond Bulpin said on the eve of the tie.

It has not been a good time for Lajong as they have had three straight defeats, last being at home against Churchill Brothers and they are placed at No 10 with seven points in their kitty. 
On the performance of the team the Englishman said “There has been lots of negative thinking and action which has been affecting the team’s performance”.

Pailan Arrows coach Arthur Papas is confident that his boys will perform well on Wednesday afternoon. “The boys are doing well and hope they will do well tomorrow.” Lajong is a good side and it will be big challenge before the boys” Arthur said adding “it has been a tough travelling from Goa to Shillong as a professionals one has to be able to adopt to the situation quickly and at the end of the day it will be result that counts and not an excuse”.

On the weather he said “This is a perfect weather for football and hope it will be a good noon to witness soccer”.

Lajong will be missing the services of Boithang, Ebi Sukure and Ramlalthang, while Arrows will be fielding their full squad.
