New Delhi, April 18: The FIFA Grassroots Course kicked off at the Cooperage Ground in Mumbai on Wednesday (April 17, 2013).
A total of 29 participants from 10 districts in Maharashtra are attending the Course which is conducted by FIFA Grassroots Instructor, Vincent Subramanium.
The objective of the Course is to educate the Grassroots coach-educators about the philosophy, organisation and implementation of Grassroots football in their own districts through Grassroots centres.
Another objective is to help the new coach-educators identify other future Grassroots coach educators in their respective districts. This is being done in accordance to the plan that in the future the State FA can educate more GR coach-educators in each State through more Grassroots Courses.
Maharashtra for the record is the third state within 6 months to undertake the AIFF Grassroots football initiative.
