Clubs Inspected over AFC Club Licensing Criteria

Shillong, June10: All India Football Federation’s two-member Inspection Team visited Shillong as part of a three-day check over Asian Football Confederation’s Club Licensing Criteria. The Team had earlier inspected Kolkata’s Mohammedan Sporting Club’s premises and facilities prior to dropping into Shillong.

Roma Khanna, Manager Club Licensing & Marketing Communication, Sponsorship Servicing  and Pushparga Chattopadhyay, Manager, Academies & Coaching, AIFF inspected the two I-League clubs of Shillong -- Shillong Lajong Football Club and Rangdajied United Football Club.

The latter earned a promotion to the I-League by virtue of being Champions in the 2nd Division League held earlier this year.

The Inspection was part of the Indian Club Licensing Criteria, set up by the AFC and FIFA, wherein I-League clubs have to fulfil the criteria laid down by the Confederation.

Roma visited the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium and checked the spectator’s gallery including the Dressing Room of the players as well as the Referees, and also interacted with Club Officials.

The AFC inspection takes place every year to encourage Clubs to be more professional in their approach.

Chattopadhyay also had a look at the Shilloong Lajon’s Youth System and then travelled to Mawphlang to check the Youth Academy of Rangdajied United FC.

The Team had earlier made similar visits to other I-League Clubs in May.
