AIFF’s Elite Academy win 2-1

NEW DELHI, September 7: All India Football Federation’s (AIFF) Elite Academy comprising of the U-19 National Team boys got the better of Salgaocar FC reserve Team, 2-1 in a Friendly Match at the Duler Stadium in Mapusa on Saturday (September 7, 2013).

Daniel Lalhlimpuia (17th) and SK Faiaz (57th) scored either side of halftime to register yet another victory for the U-19 Boys. Salgaocar FC reduced the deficit in the 80th minute.

It was level-pegging at 1-1 during the breather.

The Boys were coming off a 4-0 victory over St Cruz Sports Club Cavelossim in their previous Friendly.

These Colts under Head Coach Colm Joseph Toal had previously blanked the Chinese U-17 National Team 6-0 and 4-0 respectively in an Exposure Trip ahead of the U-19 AFC Qualifiers to be held in Doha in month of October.

The nucleus of the Squad had represented India in the Final Phase of the U-16 AFC Qualifiers in 2011 in Tehran where they had drawn 2-2 with the then U-16 Chinese National Team.
