NEW DELHI, September 9: All India Football Federation’s U-13 Regional Academy boys in Goa blanked Our Lady of Perpetual High School, Cortalim, 5-0 at Chowgule sports complex in Margao.
Playing against their senior counterparts, who are the U-17 Subroto Cup Champions of Goa, the colts put on a spirit ed display.
Right winger Ninthoinganba opened the floodgates in the 16th minute, after midfielder Ajay Alex and striker Shubham Sarangi combined on the right to tee up Ninthoinganba.
Five minutes later, Abhijit Sarkar did justice to Alex’s spadework, stabbing home from close.
MD Shahjahan scored the third for the U-13 Boys in the 25th minute, placing a neat left-footer into the far left corner of the net. Shubham Sarangi joined the party one minute later, adding a fourth to the already impressive scoreline.
India led 4-0 at halftime.
Sarkar crowned a good display with another goal to his name five minutes after the resumption. Playing one-two with striker Abuthaheer, Sarkar drilled home a cool finish from just outside the area.
