Imphal, September 5: Shillong Lajong FC played a Charity Match against Arambai XI, at the Khuman Lampak Main Stadium, Imphal  on Thursday.

The Reds made the more positive start in the opening stages and earned themselves a penalty in the early stages of the game.

It was Trinidad & Tobago International Cornell Glen, who converted the penalty for the Reds, giving them a 1 -0 lead.

For the thousands of spectators who turned up, the game became more exciting in the second half as Arambai XI managed to level the score.

Chance after chance came for both teams more so Shillong Lajong as the game wore on towards its finish.
Since both teams failed to surge ahead, the game had to be taken to a penalty shoot out.

After a very nail biting tie breaker, the Reds got the better of the host and won the game 3-2.
