Imphal, January 17 : AIM, Khabam registered their last league match win to berth last four stage from Group A in the 5th Lok-tak Trophy football tourna- ment being played at Moi-rang Multi-purpose Higher Secondary School ground.
In the last league round match, AIM defeated the favourite TRAU Kwakeithel 2-1. Both the team levelled 0-0 in the firs session. In the early minutes of the second session, TRAU made lead 1-0 through L. Deben opened their account in the 50th minute of the match.
One goal down AIM made efforts to level the margin. The winger Dewan equalized the goal in a fine move in the 66th minute. Santosh of AIM scored their most important goal in the 69th minute of the match.
After winning their last league match, AIM was placed second spot in the Group-A to make an entry for the last four stage. They will meet Group-B winner Manipur Police Sports Club on Friday as second semi-final. Top team of Gorup-A NISA will clash with NEROCA Sangakpham in second semi final on Thursday evening.
