KANGPOKPI, May 19: The 43 Assam Rifles organized a
felicitation programme today at its Kangpokpi post in honour of JSYC (NAKSA)
who has won the 2nd Sanji Dahrii Memorial Trophy Football Tournament
at Mini Stadium, Senapati recently.

Kangpokpi Town Committee, Kangpokpi Youth Union, Kangpokpi
Women Welfare Organization, Mother’s Union Kangpokpi AC and some areas chiefs
attended the felicitation programme.
While speaking at the function Brig. SK. Sharma emphasize
the importance of sports. He also said that young suggestible youth learn
values like discipline, responsibility, self confidence, sacrifice, and
accountability through games and sports. Mr. Sharma further said that the most
crucial of all is the support that comes from the community, and
administration. The young athletes need to know they are appreciated and there
is no greater way than for the community, booster club to show that appreciation.
Mr. Sharma also elaborates on “Health is wealth.” He
said those who have understood its importance will try to keep themselves fit.
Apart from a balanced diet, sports are necessary to maintain our health. Sports
are necessary for maintaining our health and physical fitness. Sports also
inculcate good qualities in us.
Mr. Sharma told the young player to always remember
the saying, “All study and no play makes Jack a dull boy.” He said this proverb
not only applies to Jack but for all of us.
Mentioned may be made that, the final match of the 2nd
Sanji Dahrii Memorial Trophy Football Tournament was played between JSYC, NAKSA and ZSA,
Senapati Zone(ZSA) and JSYC NAKSA won the match 3-1.
