Gokul hat-trick propels Orissa; Services win

CUTTACK: Riding on a hat-trick by Gokul Oram, hosts Orissa made merry in their first match of their Group C Quarterfinal League match against Chattisgarh in the 66th Santosh Trophy at the Barabati Stadium, Cuttack. Orissa won 4-0.

Gokul scored his first goal in the 44th minute as the hosts, much to the jubilation of the home crowd. Orissa led 1-0 at the interval.

In the second half, there was no stopping the hosts as they pumped in three more. Antu Murmli doubled the score in the 66th minute and they Oram completed his hat-trick, scoring in the 81st and the 91st minute respectively.

Services rout Haryana: In an earlier Group C match, Services routed Haryana 4-0. Horin put Services in the lead as early as the 8th minute only for Subrat Sarkar to double the score in the 67th minute. Services scored their third goal in the 74th minute when Farad bulged the net. Farad scored his second goal in the 85th minute to complete the rout.

Mizoram hold Railways: In a Group Quarterfinal League match at the Kalinga Stadium in Bhuwaneshwar, Mizoram held Railways 2-2. For Railways, Gurpreet Singh and Rizu scored in the 15th and the 45th minute respectively while Mizoram scored through Laltanpuia (45th) and Lalrinpuia in the 50th minute.

Tamil Nadu beat Delhi:
In the first match of Group D match, Tamil Nadu rode on Karthik’s goal to scrape past Delhi 1-0. Karthik scored the matchwinner in the 76th minute. (Source: AIFF)
