Imphal, Sept 27: In a keenly contested match of the ongoing 7th Manipur State League , a die-hard TRAU, Kwakeithel held confident AIM, Khabam Lamkhai in a 1-1 draw.
The match began in high notes among the players of both teams. However a sudden goal of AIM's K Naoton took everyone by surprise in the 15th minute of the match.
Short of one goal, TRAU did not lose heart and fought valiantly in their quest to win the match. The first half of the match concluded 1-0 in favour of AIM. In the second half also, both teams played the match with full determination to win.
AIM who lead the match by a solitary goal played the match with a hope to extend the lead further. On the other hand, TRAU who were yet to open their account tried their best to score their equaliser. But it was not an easy task for them to get behind the defence line of AIM. As the match progress towards its end, suspenses were building up and both teams were a bit tense while looking ahead to win the match.
With the suspense creating an adrenaline feelings, the match advanced towards the end and there were no chances for TRAU to equalise the score position let alone winning the match. However all their hard efforts paid well when M Meino came up with the equaliser in the last minute of the injury time when the referee was about to blow the final whistle. As the equaliser of TRAU was put behind the goalline right into the net, the stadium was filled with loud cheers from the fans of TRAU and voices of the heartbroken AIM fans. With the TRAU equaliser, the match came to an end with the scoreline at 1-1 draw.
Later in the second match, a tough TRUGPU, Nambol went down fighting a confident NEROCA, Sangakpham who beat them 2-0 to win. The two goals of NEROCA were scored in the 9th and 74th minutes of the match by Kh Satish and I Shanta respectively.
