New Delh: The inaugural FIFA Grassroots Course in Mizoram ended in Aizawl with a Football Festival. Eighty kids between the age of 6-12 attended the Festival.
The Festival was organised by the participants of the Course under the direction of Instructor Mr. Scott O’Donell, the Technical Director, AIFF Regional and Elite Academies. Keeping in mind the spirit of the Grassroots Festival, the Festival proved to be a success with the whole hearted participation of the kids and the Coaches.
The Festival lasted for 90 minutes and three match stations and three technical stations were setup on the field. It was followed by an evaluation session between the Coaches and the Instructor.
The closing ceremony was attended by Mr. S Hiato, Tourism Minister, Government of Mizoram, who gave away the certificates to the participants.
The FIFA Grassroots Course will be followed by a full fledged Grassroots program in Mizoram which is scheduled to begin soon.
