Imphal, September 23: Inter Media XI displayed their football skills by routing Trinamool Congress 2-0 in an exhibition football match held Sunday at the Regional College Ground, Chajing under Langthabal Constituency. The match was hosted by Manipur Pradesh Trinamool Congress (MPTC).

Trinamool Congress team included Andro MLA Th Shyamkumar, Wangoi MLA O Lukhoi, Thongju MLA Th Bishwajit, party’s Ukhrul constituency candidate and former international player Somatai Sheiza, while players of Inter Media XI were drawn from different media houses of the state.

Trinamool had a couple of chances to convert but their attacks could not penetrate through the solid goal keeping of media team’s Michael Yumlembam. They managed to hold Inter Media until the first-half.

Inter Media had the upper hand in the second half capitalizing on their counter attacks with their first goal scored by Kshetri Meghajit. He was assisted by Sarangthem Johnson, Khoirom Loyalakpa and Th Bishwajit. Kennedy netted the second goal through a penalty propelling Inter Media to a 2-0 victory over Trinamool Congress.

The presence of opposition leader and Trinamool Congress MLA Dr I Ibohalbi, MLA K Sarat, former Minister K Tomba and AMWJU President Wangkhemcha Shamjai added fervour to the spirits of the exhibition match. Winner of the game Inter Media XI, with Naharolgi Thoudang Editor Khoirom Loyalakpa as team captain, Wangkhemcha Shamjai as team coach and Thangjam Yaiphaba as team mananger, were sponsored by MG Enterprises, Paona Bazar. MLA Shyamkumar was the caption of Trinamool Congress team.
