Chandel, August 26: Host team South East Manipur College (SEMCO) Komlathabi beat Manipur University 2-0 in Monday’s first match of the ongoing A Pratap Singh Memorial Manipur University Inter College Football (MEN) at Komlathabi in Chandel District.

Thangtinlen (Jersey No. 9) and Gladson Nungchim (Jersey No. 14) of SEMCO netted the goals in the 36th and 78th minute of the match.

In the second match of the day, Thambal Marik College, Oinam defeated DM College of Commerce, Imphal 6-5 via penalty shootout following a draw of two score each till the end of the normal match time.
DM College’s star Segin (Jersey No 12) scored the first goal in the 3rd min. But the star player of Thambal Marik College Somananda (Jersey No 17) equalized   in the 17th minute. Basanta (Jersey No 14) of Thambal Marik College added another goal in the 35th minute to lead in the game till the end of the first half. However, Seigoulen (Jersey No 11) of SEMCO scored the equalizer in the 67th minute to end the match in a draw.

In the third match of the day, defending champion Kha Manipur College (KMC), Kakching humbled Manipur College, Imphal by 3-0 goals. Anil Kumar (Jersey No. 11), Sobhash (Jersey No 10) and Ganeshyam (Jersey No 16) of  KMC scored three winning goals in the 36th,  60th and 68th minute of the match respectively.

In the fourth match of the day, Moirang College beat Biramangol College Sawombung 5-3 via penalty shootout following a draw with both teams scoring one goal each till the end of the match time. Palmei Gingampu (Jersey No 10) of Biramangol College and Roman Singh of Moirang College scored the solitary goal of their respective teams in the 7th and 65th minute of the match.
